Propaganda Art - Week 1

This contemporary piece of Propaganda art is a political cartoon centered around the town hall health care meetings. At one such meeting, a town hall protester asked congressman Barney Frank why he supported a Nazi policy (health care reform). The congressman replied that that was ridiculous and told her that talking to her was like talking to a dining room table. Here is a video of the incident: http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/08/18/video-barney-frank-confronts-town-hall-protester/

The intended audience would be anyone who is interested in the health care reform politics, mostly common folk. The message in this piece of propaganda art is that the woman is a somewhat of a crybaby and the artist seems to be inferring, who wouldn't talk back to this kind of woman? She dons a sign reading "Obama is Hitler" and her expression and stance make her appear wimpy. This piece of Propaganda makes use of card-stacking. Only the bad features of this woman are shown, and the politician is not shown at all. It tells a sort of half-truth.
